BOULDER, Colo. – A vital moment is upon us. On October 24, 2014,Humanity's Team (HT) and The Association for Global New Thought (AGNT), along with many partners worldwide, invite the people of earth to participate in the fifth annual Global Oneness Day, a public service day, to celebrate our Oneness with all life. On this day and within the week, tens of thousands of people around the world will enjoy a special 12-hour conversation with the world’s activist and spiritual leaders, community events such as concerts, special church services, outreach projects, drum circles and performances, all in celebration
 of humanity's Oneness.
In celebrating the fifth Global Oneness Day, the world’s discussion of Oneness has evolved. “We can (now) talk about Oneness with the Divine and it is taken seriously,” said Humanity’s Team Global Coordinator Steve Farrell. “There is more a sense that perhaps Oneness with the Divine, each other and all of life is Ultimate Reality,” he said.

The Oneness discussion has developed to include the practical matters of how to create new education systems, new media, new forms of governance, new economic systems and much more. It incorporates the discussion of what a world living in Oneness would look like, how humanity can come together to create a world that works for everyone and all life forms.

The idea of humanity’s Oneness is not new. In South Africa, the word, Ubuntu, has ancient origins. It means, I am because we are.

“The concept of Ubuntu has been passed down from generation to generation, its truth held at a cellular level for many,” said Farrell “In South Africa, there is a sense by many that we are connected, we are One, and we must take care of each other,” he said. In the English language, Ubuntu means Oneness.

South Africa’s late president, Nelson Mandela, and Archbishop Desmond Tutu have spoken about the importance of Ubuntu and the role it has played in their lives. Ubuntu is now part of the South African constitution. No doubt, South Africa's healing following apartheid was in great measure due to Mandela's embodiment of Ubuntu.

“When we become transformed by the Divine, we forgive, we are inclusive, we bring people together, we heal and we do so much more,” said Farrell. “We can see this in the life lived by Nelson Mandela,” he said.

While Mandela has passed on, Farrell believes that his example of Ubuntu lives on. “It is transformational, it will transform people, countries, businesses and in time, the whole world,” he said.

Global Oneness Day organizers anticipate that 50,000 - 100,000 people around the world will participate in the complimentary, 12-hour, live virtual summit exploring the profound realization that we are One. Summit speakers will include world and spiritual leaders such as Desmond Tutu, Marianne Williamson, Ervin Laszlo, Ken Wilber, Neale Donald Walsch, Barbara Marx Hubbard, Jean Houston, Michael Beckwith, Dr. Larry Dossey, Panache Desai, Doreen Virtue and Don Miguel Ruiz,to name a few, who will join Humanity’s Team’s Worldwide Coordinating Director Steve Farrell andThe Association for Global New Thought's Executive Director Barbara Fields for an inspiring discussion about bringing Oneness into our daily lives and the global community.

“When we see our Oneness, we come into compassionate service to each other, said Farrell. “It then becomes impossible to ignore the plight of others. Global Oneness Day encourages the people of Earth to see themselves as part of a larger whole, as a cell serving the larger body it is part of.”

With the many distressing events happening in the world reflecting deep divisions, such as war, genocide, increasing poverty and ecological concerns, Farrell says that Global Oneness Day can have an impact in the face of these weighty issues.

“Oneness/Ubuntu can heal these challenges in the world,” said Farrell. “Global Oneness Day asks that we sit with Oneness/Ubuntu to see if we are aligned with its truth. It asks us to consider all the evidence that we are all connected, we are all One with the Divine, each other and all of life.”

“The evidence is overwhelming but we must each make our own decision. If we accept that Oneness/Ubuntu is true, we realize we may go within to commune with the Divine. In our heart-center we feel the Divine's Presence and truth. We feel our own divinity and the divinity of each person and all of life. We see in truth, there is no ‘other.’ There is only the One Presence, the Divine, of which we are all a part.”

Farrell suggests that when humanity can look at the world and see only the Sacred, the Divine, there can be no division, war, genocide, poverty or ecological challenge. In seeing everything as part of the Self, humanity will live in compassionate service to the world around us and by doing so, we can heal the challenges in the world.

Global Oneness Day 2014

Humanity’s Team and The Association for Global New Thought invite churches, schools and organizations to become involved in Global Oneness Day by participating in the summit or by hosting their own celebration or service project in the name of Oneness.

The impact of Global Oneness Day is immeasurable. Every movement begins by taking private conversations and making them public. We now live in a powerful illusion of separation that marginalizes our Oneness and connection with the Divine. Oneness is an ancient truth and it's time to enter the world stage is now. On Global Oneness Day, Humanity’s Team and AGNT invite people to take this awareness of our Oneness public for one day, so in the not too distant future we may live our Oneness each day.

“Whether it’s going into a homeless shelter, creating a celebration event, or whatever we’re doing in honor of this day, we encourage everyone to speak this universal truth, to share this awareness of our Oneness with others,” said Farrell. “It’s an important way to initiate the conversation about Oneness. “Our mothers said, ‘many hands make light work’ and it is true,” he said.
